Vulnerable Adult Dies from Neglect
April 12, 2003 by Bob Christensen
We are looking into a case now involving the tragic death of a vulnerable adult who died when he suffocated on a latex glove that lodged in his throat. There is no excuse for this death to have occurred.
We must be constantly vigilent on behalf of our elderly and vulnerable adults and youth. More than ever, for-profit institutions are entrusted with the care of our loved ones. Many of these facilities train, manage and professionally care for their vulnerable patients. Unfortunately, some of these facilities are undertrained, understaffed and do not meet the minimum standard of proper care for our elderly.
