Do you remember Sgt. Schultz? What was his famous line? I believe it was “I know nothing”.

The Governor and several of his close political friends “know nothing” about “slamming” performed by a telecommunications company owned by one of the Governor’s political allies.

It seems that our Governor sat on the board of the parent company of a subsidiary under investigation by a number of states for the practice of slamming, which is the improper switching of phone services through telemarketers.

Let’s keep following this one, as the Governor’s close political ally, Mr. Commers, resigned today from the Department of Commerce.

My good friend Bruce Hanley, the pre-eminent criminal lawyer in the Twin Cities tells me- “willful blindness is not a defense”. Not even for Sgt. Schultz, or the Governor.
