A New Face at the United Nations

I have not had a chance to look at the legality of the appointment today of John Bolton as our ambassador to the United Nations, bypassing Senate approval. However, our President is quoted as stating that “this post is too important to leave vacant any longer, especially during a war and a vital debate about U.N. reform”.

Are we at war or not? Have you noticed in the last few days that the Administration has distanced itself from the “global war on terror” theme and that it occurred shortly after the London bombings? Remember that we were told we were fighting over there so we could be safe over here?
