Recent Cases

Below are just a few of the cases we have worked on in the past year:

* We are representing a professional disabled from a stroke caused by taking Vioxx which is being litigated. We are looking at other cases in the Vioxx category as well as other drugs and medical devices that have caused injury or death. Along with associated counsel, we have begun to investigate and litigate consumer class actions where companies have undertaken fraudulent and/or illegal actions that are harming consumers. These case can develop from consumer products, industrial products, service contracts, insurance and securities scams and programs.

* We opposed a summary judgment motion from two Defendants seeking to dismiss the case of a man blinded in an industrial accident from high voltage electricity. We lost the motion and the appeal to the 8th Circuirt Court of Appeals. Our client deserved a day in court which he never will get. We argued for reversal of a Federal District Court decision that severely limits the rights of Plaintiffs to recover for injuries caused by defective products in Minnesota. We are pleased to report that the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals has reversed the federal district court judge. We were able then to settle his case. We are helping a client whose former employee stole trade secrets and confidential information.

* We have several of these cases going now and are able to assist our business client in protecting their customer lists and trade secrets. We are assisting clients in obtaining a pre-nuptial agreement and appropriate estate planning. We are also working on some very complex trust issues for several wealthy clients. We have brought a case of significant fraud on the U.S. government and various states in federal and state court. If you or anyone you know has information about cheating the government, we know how to help and will protect you to the full extent of the law from repercussions from your employer. With the egregious reports in the last year of fraud by major companies on our government, we are uniquely established to bring cases on behalf of the government to expose the fraud.

* We represented a man whose hand was nearly torn off when the fan in a vacuum failed to stop after more than 30 seconds. We went to trial on this case February 21, 2006 in Virginia, MN. On February 28, 2006 the jury returned a verdict in our client’s favor for 1.8 million dollars. We have represented buyers and sellers of several businesses and have closed these negotiated transactions. We are placing in suit several wrongful death cases involving auto accidents on our state and county highways. We are negotiating on behalf of several of our corporate clients new leases for either parent or subsidiary companies.

* We have helped our clients with easement questions and residential and commercial real estate purchases as well. Bob continues to serve as a mediator and arbitrator in No-Fault auto, personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, real estate, employment, construction and commercial litigation. We are representing a young woman who was stabbed time after time in her sleep by a minor with a mental age of 7 using a knife he collected with the encouragement and purchase of his parents. These cases are just a snapshot of our work so far this year.
